Human GeneticsInstructor:Ms. Cheryl HachDescription:KAMSC Human Genetics is a one-semester course which includes a study of both classical and molecular genetics plus an introduction to the new science of bioinformatics. The course aims to help students learn to define basic genetic mechanisms in human inheritance, examine genes and genomes and use bioinformatics techniques that go beyond the human genome project and study genes and the diseases they cause. Test, quizzes, computer laboratory investigations, laboratory and group projects, research project with oral report, written assignments; presentation, of current news articles related to course, will be required as well as a comprehensive final exam. (alternates with Microbiology) |
